Car in the Shop - Forced to Follow Our Plan To Bike Everywhere

Yesterday was quite the day.  I guess this story starts before yesterday because last saturday whenever we went from 1st to 2nd gear the car started to struggle a bit.  I've been worried and wanting to take it in, and Kirk had agreed to take it in but didn't want to take it immediately.  We needed to go to the Barclay family get-together with my siblings families and my parents, so as we left I said a prayer asking for our car to have extra strength to get us there and home safely.  This is yet another example of a prayer answered.  Our car did great from the time I prayed until we got home.  Then Kirk drove it to work and home.  By the time he got home he was extremely frustrated because the car had started pretty much constantly dying every time it tried to go from 1st to 2nd gear.  He then canceled his chiropractor appointment and spent the next 45 minutes driving to the car shop and stalling every block or so on the way (which is why it took so long).  Turns out we are going to need to replace the transmission for our Honda Mini Van.  Luckily Grandma Patty was able to pick him up from the shop to get him home.  This morning was the first morning that Kirk has ridden his bike to work and for the next few days we are only going to be going to only riding bikes where we need to go.  I guess we won't be going very far.  We are so grateful to be so close to Kirk's work right now and for the generosity of Grandma Patty with her help and letting me borrow her bike.  So we can take the kids with us easier I really want to get this 21 speed tandem bike I found from walmart for only $275.  That plus one kid carrier and I can take all 3 kids with me when we need to go someplace.  It would be cool to get a backrest for the backseat for Eeva so that she could pedal with me and be buckled on safely.  If we end up getting something like that this I'll post a pic of us on it, here's a pic of what i found.
